The Union Health Minister, J.P. Nadda, has reviewed India's preparedness for monkeypox, emphasizing measures such as sensitizing health units at airports, seaports, and ground crossings, and gearing up testing laboratories and health facilities to detect, isolate, and manage any cases.

The symptoms of monkeypox include a rash on various parts of the body, fever, chills, swollen lymph nodes, exhaustion, muscle aches, backache, headache, and respiratory symptoms.

The virus is transmitted through close physical contact, including sexual contact, and from contaminated materials like linens and clothing.
